I am so excited to tell you about my upcoming show:

This is a show in which I honor several of the women singers who inspired me and set my high heeled foot on the wondrous path of music and performing.

I also have the great good fortune of working with some of the most splendid musicians ever ~ Peter Polzak and Big City Jazz. I started working on this show in 2000 with my dear friend Chuck Larkin (see him in Jersey Boys!) when it was a cabaret favorite, then it went the way of all fun projects, we were called to other things. 3 years ago I did a Patsy Cline gig for a private party at The Union League Club here in Chicago and met Peter who was there with BCJ playing great jazz. One thing led to another and we brought the show out of its mothballs and boas and...Wow!

My new manager! Yes, at long last I have "Peeps" - no, not the marshmallow mouth party from Easter - "People".

Melanie Kallal is a terrific and dynamic woman I met several years ago and has, with her business partners Carl and Jan Shunk, a wonderful music agency; Carmel Music and Entertainment. www.carmelme.com / 847.864.5969. Between the 4 of us, we have LOTS of experience!

Now, a word about Unity in Chicago: I have been a huge fan for years and so I am so happy to be doing our show there. It's home. Mark Ward, Jay Hand and Reverend Erica really "walk the talk", they help us so much - Thank you. And www.unitychicago.org is where you can hear my internet radio show "Amazing Things" on channel 5.

And the reason I know there's no such thing as a 1 woman show is because I work with all these fine folks, and I have come to learn that while t takes a village to raise a child, it takes a crack team to "put on a show"! I have that team. They are fantastic! So, big love and thanks to Carmel Music and Entertainment, Big City Jazz and Unity in Chicago for helping my dream be realized. Thanks Mel.

Please come and whoop and holler on the 21st. We're filming it and I want my pals to be there! Thank you, as always for your support, and here's to a great, happy and safe summer.

Lastly: Here is a piece I wrote for "Her Way":

These are the women who went before
They blazed a trail and opened doors
They taught me singing's so much more
Than simple melodies

These are the women who paved the way
For every girl who sings today
I owe a debt I must repay
And sing their memories

All Love 'n Light,
Meg
